Psychotherapy

Kristine's psychotherapy services offer a comprehensive approach to healing, integrating Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Psychodynamic principles to help clients process specific traumatic events and the complex feelings and thoughts that arise from them. These therapeutic methods are especially effective for addressing complex events and relationships' emotional and psychological effects, where the impact can be long-lasting and deeply rooted.

Through CBT, we work together to identify and challenge the negative thoughts and beliefs that are triggered by past traumatic experiences. Often, trauma is not just about the event itself but the patterns of thinking that emerge afterward, such as self-blame, fear, or mistrust. We will explore these patterns and work to reframe them, helping you gain control over how your past affects your present.

 

Solution-focused therapy helps you shift from the weight of past pain to finding practical and positive steps forward. Even in the aftermath of complex trauma, we can identify your strengths and build on them to create actionable steps toward healing. Focusing on your strengths and future solutions allows you to move from feeling stuck in painful memories to finding hope and direction.

 

Incorporating Psychodynamic principles, we can explore the more profound, often unconscious, influences of your past. This might involve understanding how childhood experiences, complex relationships, or unresolved emotional conflicts influence your reactions to current events. By examining these underlying themes, we can uncover the emotional triggers and patterns that continue to shape your responses to specific situations, people, or even your sense of identity.

This approach allows us to process not just the specific traumatic events but also the emotional and cognitive aftermath that follows, helping you understand the root causes of recurring struggles, emotional reactions, or negative beliefs. We will also explore how your relationships, past and present, may be contributing to these emotional patterns and work to resolve any emotional wounds that still linger.
